Message from The Honourable Minister of Trade and Industry, Alimamy Koroma

Welcome to the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s website. This portal provides a window into the world of the MTI as it carries out its activities in the areas of trade, investment, private sector development and industry. It also serves as a means of interaction between the Ministry and our network of partners at home and abroad. I hope you will find useful information on our current programmes, our policy initiatives, and our future direction.

The MTI is determined to continue to be a dynamic conduit for the empowerment of  Sierra  Leone’s  private  sector as  it  becomes more
responsive to the demands and opportunities presented by the globalising world, and as it takes its place in the shaping of Sierra Leone’s economy. We look forward to constant success in this important task in partnership with our allies.

I encourage all users to sign on to the Members Section of the portal where they will benefit from privileged access and a higher level of interaction with the Ministry on areas of mutual interest.

I wish you happy and stimulating surfing on the MTI website!

These measures are part of a package of reforms pioneered by the MTI on business start ups and operations in Sierra Leone. Read more…

The validated DTIS and Action Matrix were then endorsed by the Cabinet in November 2006, clearing the way for the implementation of the Action Matrix, which outlines a set of priority actions on a range of sectoral and cross-cutting themes. As a beneficiary of the IF process, Sierra Leone is now eligible to an initial US $1 million of seed money to implement projects developed under the Action Matrix. Read more…
